Flavored Coffee Process

Coffee is a nice beverage. However, it's too strong if taken by itself without adding some additional ingredients. Ever since people started to drink coffee, men have added sugar to the brew. This helps to mask the bitter taste. Later cream or milk was added to give other taste.
Over time, these flavorings are still used until this day. In addition to those previously available, there are new additions to the flavored coffee like chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, vanilla and other exotic additives.
How Is Flavored Coffee Produced?
Basically there are two methods that is widely used to get the flavor that you want – extraction method and artificial flavoring.
In the extraction method, the flavor is taken out from the selected raw products. It is normally a concentrate in liquid form. When making flavored coffee, this concentrate is added to the coffee to give you the final product. This method can only be used at home or in coffeehouses.
The other method is impregnating the flavor into the coffee beans. This flavor is produced chemically to simulate the taste of the required flavor, e.g. vanilla. The green coffee beans are roasted until it reached the standards determined by the manufacturer. After the roasting process, artificial flavors are added to the coffee beans. This is the most common way used by the producers.
Chicory Flavored Coffee
Another alternative to chemically processed flavored coffee is to use chicory as filler. At some point in history, when coffee was too expensive, roasted chicory was used as a replacement. When chicory is used as filler, it gives a uniquely flavored coffee enjoyed by many coffee aficionados. Another option is to use vanilla pulp to provide a naturally flavored coffee. The mixture of coffee and vanilla will create a pleasant aroma and taste. Some adds cocoa to the brewing process to create their flavored coffee.
Conclusion
Coffee is a favorite beverage with many people. Ever since man started to consume this beverage, men have tried many methods of roasting, brewing and even cultivating the crop on different soil and climate. The ultimate aim is to get the best taste and aroma out of the same coffee beans. Some people like flavored coffee because of their unique taste.
